Working in the field of pandemic brings serious work load and produces physical and psychological difficulties among nurses. This study was qualitatively undertaken in order to review work-related strain, perceived stress and job satisfaction among the nurses working at new type 2019 corona virus (2019-nCoV) services. The study was carried out with the participation of 131 nurses working at 2019-nCoV services of a hospital complex of a foundation university in Istanbul. The data were gathered using an Information Request Form that included some socio-demographic characteristics and working conditions of nurses, Work Related Strain Inventory, Job Satisfaction Scale and Perceived Stress Scale. In the study; it was found that nurses’ average score in “Job Satisfaction Scale” was 66.87±17.50, their average score in “Work Related Strain Inventory” was 40.29±5.89, their average score in “Perceived Stress Scale” was 44.60±8.61. Accordingly; job satisfaction, work related strain and perceived stress of the nurses working at pandemic services were above the average. Besides; in the study a negative and strong correlation was found to be between Job Satisfaction Scale and Work Related Strain Inventory and as work related strain went up, job satisfaction went down (p<0.05). Longer working periods at pandemic services, higher number of workinghours in month are considered to be negative factors in work related strain, perceived stress and job satisfaction. Results of the study point out that nurses–a group of health workers fighting against the pandemic in the front line- have psycho-social problems and draw attention to the importance of supporting them.
