The aim of this study is the analysis of the verbal, verbal / physical or physical violence experienced by healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic process by comparing them with the previous year. This descriptive study was conducted by examining 199 White Code notifications submitted to the Training and Research Hospital Employee Rights and Safety Unit between January 1 - October 31, 2019 and January 1 - October 31, 2020. Frequency analysis was performed with SPSS 25.0 program on these data analyzed, and Visio program was used in drawing the figure. According to the results of the research, 142 notifications were made in 2019 and 57 in 2020. While the white code notification was made in August in 2019, it was made in March 2020. The most important factor in the onset of the violence has emerged as the wrong attitude and behavior of the patient / patient relative in both years. The type of violence done is the most verbal violence in both years. While the units where violence was used occurred in emergency services at the most 44% in 2019, in 2020 it was 49.1% in polyclinic units. The majority of those who use violence against healthcare professionals are patients. In 2019, the highest number of women and men in 2020 were violent. The most violent occupational group among healthcare workers has been doctors in both years. According to the results of the research, the number of patients admitted to the hospital was 2,345,585 in 2019 (10 months average), while it was 1,402,812 in 2020 (10 months average). The decrease in the number of patients in 2020 is thought to be due to the pandemic epidemic being taken from us. As a result of this study, it is clear that healthcare professionals were subjected to verbal and physical violence during the COVID-19 process as in other times. Considering this situation, not only the hospital management, but also the Ministry of Health should find permanent solutions and impose sanctions.
